Making bowl predictions is mentally draining (and fun) but this is an OK look. I will say though, Arizona can’t get to the Holiday. Either Oregon State wins out and goes to the Rose (giving Arizona 4 loses to Oregon’s 3 or Cal’s 3) or the winner of the Civil War goes to the Holiday with 2 losses, case closed.
Also, Oregon doesn’t play this weekend but can all but clinch* a Holiday Bowl berth with a Stanford win at Cal AND an Oregon State win at Arizona. I’m not sure I’d bet on that mini-parlay but I’ll surely be rooting for those teams.
Lastly, I’m a Duck through and through and have never really been an overall Pac-10 fan but working with a bunch of SEC folk makes this Oregon State to the Rose Bowl very compelling (especially if that Stanford win comes to fruition this weekend). I would love to see two Pac-10 teams in BCS games for the first time since 2003 (I believe), but more importantly I really, really want to see USC in the Sugar Bowl playing Florida or Bama (not a given even if OSU wins out).
*This also assumes USC wins out and gets an at-large berth.

Not a lot of great football on but still some worth paying attention to. Last week I believe I set a personal record for football watched in one Saturday. I literally began the day with Texas/Baylor and UNC/Georgia Tech around 9am and ended with USC/Cal around 9pm (somewhere in the middle I caught Iowa’s winning field goal, Bama’s OT win, Georgia/Kentucky in a great shootout and I even suffered through every snap of the Oregon game).
National:
4:30 PM PST Virginia Tech at Miami (FL) ESPN (Thurs.)
12:30 PM PST No. 25 South Carolina at No. 4 Florida (CBS)
12:30 PM PST No. 16 North Carolina at Maryland (ABC)
Pac-10:
12:30 PM PST California at Oregon State (ABC)
3:30 PM PST Arizona at Oregon A whole mess of channels (Direct TV-FSN AZ, Comcast-788, Internet-GoDucks.com)
PAC-10 FB Pick-em, week 12
Two elimination games this week with the loser of each being relegated to the Pac-10 Bowl pit of doom.
If I do say so myself, and I do, I was pretty acurate with my over/under calls last week. Again, the things I see as important considering each teams strenghts and weaknesses:
Oregon State 24 - California 23
Cal’s picks of OSU - 1.5
Rogers Bros. yards from scrimage - 210.5
Total sacks - 5.5
Oregon 31 - Arizona 27
Oregon’s rush yards - 225.5
Arizona’s pass yards - 265.5
Oregon fumbles - 5.5
USC 42 - Stanford 7
Stanford rush yards - 50.5
USC’s total offensive yards - 475.5
Sanchez’s TDs - 2.5
UCLA 24 - Washington 17
Arizona State 42 - Washington State 13
The last two games are so boring I could barely get through typing scores.
